A beetle's death : Shravan

The other day in the twilight

I saw a beetle soaring into the sky

with a vague end in its mind

and then with a cloudless end in its mind

a bird flew up behind..

and snatched the beetle

from the sky into the beak..

After a moment’s silence...,

only the bird was there..

- happy and contented.

And the beetle ceased to exist

happily and contentedly.

silence of a moonlit night

A silent night

with the sky full of stars

and the brightest full moon,

that fell from the sky

into the serene pond

and joyously playing on the little waves,

that dancing in the wind..

the music of the wind passing through the bamboos..

Contrasting the depth of stillness;

the never ending chirping of crickets..

the song of a distant nightingale..

the plops of frogs jumping back into the pond

Reflecting the moods of nature,

my heart sang in the silence of my soul..

O! this moonlit night,

that sprinkled with the twinkling stars

and the ancient music

is filling my soul with penetrating silence!

The flower in yonder valley
